Hazel Edmonds, 9l, of Sidney, Kentucky passed away on October 23, 2007 in Dover, Ohio at the home of her daughter.

Born September 5, 1916 at Canada, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Patrick “Pat” and Victoria (Street) Smith.  On October 12, 1935 she
married Harold Edmonds who preceded her in death on May 29, 1990.  She was also preceded in death by seven sisters, Octavia Thacker, Gertrude
Thacker, Ethel Layne, Maxie Laferty, Grace Smith, Mary Thornbury and Tina Carpenter.

She is survived by her daughter Anna Gale Warinner and son-in-law Edgar Paul Warinner of Dover, Ohio.  She has made her home with them for the
past six

years.  Other survivors are her four grandchildren  and their spouses and five great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  Grandchildren are Paula
(Donavan) Hochstetler, Rexburg, Idaho, Ed (Mary Beth) Warinner and children, Madisyn, Merideth and Edward of Lawrence, Kansas, John (Patina)
Warinner and children, Sydney and Jake of Columbus, Ohio, Michael (Yvette) Warinner of Westlake, Ohio.  She is also survived by one sister, Flossie
Blackburn and one brother John (Phyllis) Smith of Canada, Kentucky.  A brother-in-law Stewart Laferty of Sidney, Kentucky and brother-in-law Fred
(Helen) Edmonds of Lexington, Kentucky.  Several nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Hazel was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Old Regular Baptist Church of Sidney, Kentucky where she has been a member for 69 years.  She loved her
church and all of its members.   She also loved making chicken and dumplings and stack cakes for the annual Association Meetings.

Mothers greatest joy besides going to Church was cooking for others.  She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking and sharing her food with neighbors
and friends.  She always thinks of others and their needs before her own.  She was a unique Mother and person..  She was a cook for the Bevins School
of Sidney, Kentucky for several years.  She was the happiest when she could do something for someone else.  Hazel has touched many lives and she had
a great love for everyone.  She loved working in her yard and garden and always had beautiful flowers in the yard and in the house.

Thank you for your Love, Care and Encouragement.  For believing in our hopes and dreams and for your endless caring and prayers.  We loved you so
much.  Hazel will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mt. Pleasant Old Regular Baptist Church, Sidney, Kentucky.  Burial will follow
in the Smith Cemetery at Sidney, Kentucky.  Friends and family may call at the Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Kentucky on Friday October 26 at 6:00
P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M. with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers in charge.

Ronnie Lynn "Blacklung" Edmiston (photograph), 54, of Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center formerly of Sidney, Kentucky, passed away
Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born October 23, 1952, he was the son of Bobby Jean Rowe of Belfry, Kentucky.

Ronnie was a retired truck driver and a member of the Canada Freewill Baptist. He was a great dear hunter and fisherman.

Preceding him in death are his adoptive parents Whayne and Anna Edmiston along with eight brothers and two sisters.

Surviving him, other than his mother, are is companion of 27 years Helen Smith; step children: Ricky Smith of Huddy, Kentucky, Christy (Hubert) Hall
of Greensburg, Indiana, Jackie Pinson of Loraine Ohio, and Sandy McCoy of Pikeville, Kentucky; brother, Alex Edmiston of Hatfield, Kentucky; half
brother James Harvey Rowe of Belfry; half sisters: Polly (Jerry) Hager of Belfry and Ida (Steven) Nogosky of Destin, Florida; a host of grandchildren
and great grandchildren along with 29 cousins.

Visitation is after 6:00 pm Thursday, June 28, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky with special service at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Friday, June 29, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Jack Maynard officiating. Burial is at Smith Cemetery in
Sidney, Kentucky. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.


Rachel Fuller Elswich (photograph), 84, of Canada, Kentucky passed away at Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky.

Born September 25, 1922 in Canada, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie Rowe Fuller. Also preceding her in death are two
daughters: Judith Gail Baker and Mary Elizabeth Elswick; grandson, Scotty Baker, son-in-law, Sidney Gary Williamson, and several brothers and sisters.

Rachel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Canada Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving Rachel are her husband, Grover Lawrence Elswick; one son, Lawrence (Helena) Elswick of Canada; three daughters: Connie Sue (Michael)
Chapman and Patsy (Thomas) Blackburn all of Canada, and Madonna Kay Williamson of McAndrews, Kentucky; one brother, Zack Fuller of
Whitehall, Ohio, one sister, Ruth Blackburn of Steele, Kentucky; ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Visitation is after 6:00 pm Thursday, August 16, 2007 and Friday, August 17, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special services each evening at
7:00 pm.

Funeral services are Noon Saturday, August 18, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Mike Elswick and other officiating. Burial is at Elswick Family
Cemetery in Canada, Kentucky. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.


Betty Joe Evans, 70, of Williamson, West Virginia, passed away Monday, January 22, 2007 at King's Daughters Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky.

Betty Joe was born May 11, 1937 in Mingo County, West Virginia to the late James Monroe and Goldie Dempsey Clay.

She was a homemaker and member of Mountain Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Delbarton, West Virginia.

Other than her parents, preceding her in death are one son, James Michael Clay and three brothers, Milton, Robert, and Bill Clay.

Surviving her are her husband, Donald Evans of Williamson; sons, Gregory Evans of Laurel Creek, West Virginia; one daughter, Robin Lynn Spence of
Delbarton; three brothers: Carl Clay of Delbarton, Leroy Clay of Detroit, Michigan, and Wallace Clay of Belo, West Virginia; two sisters: Mildred
Hensley of Savannah, Georgia and Diana McCoy of Burnwell, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Madison and Megan Spence, Austin and Brandi Evan; and
a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation is after 6:00 pm Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Thursday, January 25, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Joaquine Ooten officiating. Burial is at Lenore
Memorial Gardens in Lenore, West Virginia. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
