Since 1951, R. E. Rogers Funeral Home has served families in Belfry, Kentucky and the
surrounding communities with their complete funeral needs. From family patriarch, Russell E.
Rogers, to his son-in-law, M. Gene Hall, to his grandson G. Michael Hall, the art of embalming was
passed down and combined with the changing of time providing our extended family with the
traditions of old combined with today's demands during this time of great loss.
Today the day to day operations of R. E. Rogers Funeral Home is in the more than capable of
hands of Connie Hall-Caines, G. Michael Hall, and Russell Hall.
Betty Jo Bevins, 76, of Ashland, Kentucky, formerly of South Williamson, Ky. died Sunday, September 28, 2008 in the
King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
Born December 12, 1931 at South Williamson, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Carl C. Bevins and Mattie Jane Nowlin
Bevins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by, one sister, Bonnie Jean King; an infant sister; two brothers, Rudolph
and Randolph Bevins.
Betty was a Deli Clerk at Krogers for 35 years and is survived by one son, Charles Stephen Bevins of Ashland, Kentcuky;
two sisters, Lois Maynard of Waterford, Mich.; and Carol Sue Kirk of South Williamson, Kentucky; three brothers, Roger
Bevins of Chattaroy, West Virginia, Richard Hill Bevins of Clarkston, Michigan and Carl Bevins Jr. of Waterford, Michigan; one
grandchild, Mickey Bevins; one great grandchild; special niece, Janey Cochran, whom she thought of as a daughter of South
Williamson, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 1 P.M. Friday, October 3, 2008 at the R. E, Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry with her nephew, Eric King
officiating. Burial will be in the Chestnut Point Cemetery, Meta, Ky. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Wednesday and Thursday
at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Special Services will be held at 7 PM Wednesday with Danny Mikles and 7 PM
Thursday with Lonnie Francis. Pallbearers will be Eric, Randy, Tim and Kenneth King, Roger Anthony Bevins, Thomas Griffith
and Eddie Lucas.
