Fred Burgess Scarberry, 84, of Portsmouth, Ohio, formerly of Turkey Creek, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Southern Ohio Medical
Center.
He was born Oct. 21, 1922, at Goody, Ky., the son of the late Wade and Elsie Scarberry.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Young Scarberry, whom passed away serving his country in the Vietnam War
in 1969; one sister, June Scarberry; one brother, R.C. Scarberry.
Mr. Scarberry served his country aboard the USS West Virginia in the US Navy and was in the battle of Pearl Harbor. He was a Mason. He enjoyed
gardening but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a devoted Christian and was a proud member of the 7th Street Christian Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Scarberry.
Fred is loving honored by his children, Sue, Chris, Gail, June, Fred Paul, Tina, Carl, Fred Donald and Kenny; three brothers, Ed Scarberry of Florida, R.T.
(Patsy) Scarberry of Turkey Creek, Ky., and Frank Scarberry of Columbus, Ohio.
Other survivors include 18 grandchildren and a host of of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Ky., with Lisa Crawford and Pastor Rodney
Kencaid officiating.
Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky.
Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at the funearl home.

Clifford “Peach” Scott, 77, of Hardy, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2006 in Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Kentucky.
Born May 29, 1929, he was the son of the late Chester and Fannie Hatfield Scott. He was retried from Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan and
founder of Jason’s Tack Shop in Hardy. Scott was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Army.
Surviving him are his wife Mary Pinion Scott, Hardy; sons: Clifford D. (Rhonda) Scott of Midland, Michigan, David B. Scott of Romulus, Michigan, and
Fred Charles of Belleville, Michigan; daughters: Shiela J. (Steve) Sexton of Belleville, Diana (Doug) Tabour of Henderson, Kentucky, and Tonya (Jason)
Fields of Hardy; brother Walter (Ann) Hatfield of Antioch, Tennessee, sister Gladys (Gene) Brown of Franklin, Indiana; 16 grandchildren which include a
special grandson Brian Fields; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death other than his parents was one sister Grace.
Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home with special singing service and Raymond Stanley at 7:00.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home with Buddy Kendrick, Gerria Reynolds, and Deacon Walter Hatfield officiating.

Della R. Coleman Scott, 83, of Williamson, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006, in Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, West
Virginia.
Born October 22, 1922 to the late Peter and Mary (Griffey) Coleman, Della was a homemaker, member of the First United Methodist Church of
Williamson, the Elizabeth Chapter #37 O. E. S., the Women of the Moose, the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Democratic Women’s Club, the
Rebekah Lodge #67, the Belfry Area Homemakers Club and awarded a Kentucky Colonel in 1989.
Surviving Della are: one son, Danny T. Scott of Forest Hills, Kentucky; three daughters: Brenda (Sherman) Young of Williamson, West Virginia, Marilyn
(Shelly) Hensley of Belfry, Kentucky, and Frances Scott of Kodak, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren: Jody, Dana, Tommy, Bobby, and Bridget Scott,
Kermit, David, and Chris Ratliff, Patty (Richard) Foster, Sharman (Brad) Smith and Bart Shane (Hayley) Scott; fifteen great grandchildren: Nick and
NaKisah Salmons, Kersten Scott, Magaly and Mya Smith, Brandon and Kaylee Ratliff, Mark and Amanda Ratliff, Jordan and Jon Foster, Tyler and
Nathan Ratliff and Shane and Brady Scott.
Preceding Della in death were a sister, Thelma Chafin and five brothers: Curtis, John, and Eli Coleman, Jack Justice, and Roy Farley.

Monvil Ray Sheppard, 47, of Laurel Creek in Lenore, West Virginia passed away at the residence of his cousin Larry Hall.
Born March 3, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lace Marcum and Olle Sheppard Marcum, he was at self-employed painter.
Other than his parents preceding him in death are one sister Sherry Preece, and the grandparents who raised him Mary and Wallace Sheppard.
Surviving him are one brother, Bruce Marcum, one sister Sue Marcum, and a host of family and friends.

Lois Smith, 75, of McAndrews, Kentucky was carried by angels to Heaven on Tuesday, August 22, 2006.
Lois was born in Huddy, Kentucky October 25, 1930 to the late Claude and Gladys Varney Bostic.
She married James York Smith Sr. on January 2, 1947. They were married 38 years when he died on April 29, 1985. She was also preceded in death by a
son, Darrell R. Smith on September 20, 1985.
Lois was a member of the Pinsonfork Church of God and a former employee of Food City and Pizza Hut.
Surviving her are one son, James York Smith Jr. and his wife Pat of Meta, Kentucky; four daughters: Claudette Ball her husband Tom of Belfry, Kentucky,

Smith was a former coal miner, coal operator, and retired state mine inspector for Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals. He was a member of the

Ann “Annie” Gentile Stanley, 81, of Williamson, West Virginia and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Mingo Manor
Nursing Home in Williamson, West Virginia.
Born December 28, 1924 in Williamson, West Virginia to Italian immigrants, Ann was the twelfth child of Mingo Bottling Founder the late Dominic Gentile
and his wife the late Anna Quattrocchi Gentile.
Annie attended Williamson High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of the 1942 graduating class. Upon completion of her high school
education, Annie attended West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia for two years. She then opted to enter the field of beauty attending
beauty school in Huntington, West Virginia. After completion of beauty school, Annie move back to Williamson and open Ann’s Beauty Shop located in
the Taylor-Poole Building.
Annie met and married, the now deceased, Dr. Richard Stanley in Tampa, Florida. The pair shared many years pursuing their passion for traveling,
venturing all over the world. The couple had one daughter, Helen Ann Stanley, co-owner of Mingo Bottling Company of Williamson, West Virginia and
goddaughter Sharon Kolba of Fort Worth, Texas.
A devout Catholic, Ann was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Williamson and St. Rose Catholic Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Annie
was instrumental in organizing the first spaghetti dinner for St. Rose using the Gentile family recipe for sauce and meatballs. It was a huge success.
Annie was a trendsetter and a homemaker. Her passions were arts and crafts, sewing, dancing, and shaing her talents with others. She enjoyed playing
bridge and at one time played tournament bridge. Annie also taught beginners the art of playing bridge.
Surviving Annie are her sister Lorrayne Gentile Sherman of Charleston, West Virginia and Sam Gentile of Melbourne, Florida, and a host of loving nieces,
nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to count.
Annie was preceded in death by four sisters: Mary, Helen, Youla, and Nellie; six brothers: Tony, Albert, Jerry, Joe, Bill, and Dom; a niece Mary Jane and a
nephew Ronnie.
Visitation will be Friday, June 2, 2006, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Williamson, West Virginia with Fr. Harry Dunn officiating.

Lois Pecco Stratton, Clearwater, FL., formerly of Belfry, KY., went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 23rd under the loving care of Hospice
House, Pinellas Park, FL.. She was the daughter of the late Mariah Trout Pecco and Tom Pecco Sr. who founded Pecco's Meat Market in Williamson, WV.
After relocating from the Belfry area, Ms. Stratton became a prominent business woman in Florida as owner a Post Office Outlet, Little Dallas Beauty
Salon, several hotel/motels and the Stratton Apartments. She was a licensed cosmetologist and a previous model. She was a volunteer at the Marine Science
Center in Clearwater.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dwight Stratton; her son, Harold Dwight Stratton II; parents, Tom & Mariah Pecco; brother, William
Sam Pecco;and sister, Sarah Ann Pecco.
Survivors include 5 sisters, Marie Ball and Pauline Hackney, Belfry, Ann DiBuono, Virginia Beach, VA., Irene "Kitty" Salyers, Hampton, VA; Jennie
Nelson, Abingdon, VA.; 2 brothers, Tom Pecco Jr., Belfry and Buster Pecco, Morehead; 2 grandchildren, Nicolas Dwight Stratton and Kristel Noelle

Edna M. Truskowski, 77, of Hardy, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2006 at Appalachian Regional Healthcare in South
Williamson, Kentucky.
Born July 27, 1929 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Elder Dave and Delcie Adkins Williams, Edna was a member of the Leckieville Freewill Baptist
Church and Ladies Auxiliary. She served 29 years in the American Legion Post 60 Ladies Auxiliary of Norfolk, Virginia, where she served as president for
four terms and second district president for two terms.
Surviving Edna are six children: Ricky (Pam) Williams of Gordon, Georgia, Debbie Spencer (Reb) Bean of Bryans Road, Maryland, Christine Spencer
VanNostrand of Burlington, North Carolina, Melvin (Terry) Spence of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, Joseph Truskowski of Burlington, and Therasa (Daniel)
Grant also of Burlington.
Also surviving her are: two brothers, Don (Connie) Williams of Irington, Georgia, and Gordan (Judy) Wallace of Goody, Kentucky; three sisters, Minnie

Other than her parents, preceding Laura in death one brother, Robert L. Runyon, Jr.; maternal grandparents Oscar H. and Pearl (Compton) Greer; paternal
grandparents T. I. and Bessie (Goodman) Runyon; and one nephew, Steven Lewis Runyon.
Friends may call after 6:00 pm Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home. There will be a special service at 7:00 pm with Brother Rick
Stone from Lexington, Kentucky.
Funeral services are 1:00 pm Thursday, December 21, 2006 with Pastor Jack Maynard officiating. Interment is in Mountain View Memory Gardens in
Huddy, Kentucky.
Pallbearers are David Lawson, Bryan Manning, Ryan Smith, Kevin McDonald, Aaron Chapman, Shawn Kidd, Taulby Compton Jr., and Robert Runyon.
