Douglas Fairbanks Blackburn, 81 of Canada, Ky. passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at his residence.
He was born December 13, 1928 at Canada, Ky. the son of the late T. Blackburn and Mary Murphy Blackburn.
Doug was retired from N. & W. Railroad, a member of Stone Masonic Lodge #890 F. & A.M. and a member of the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Ann Blackburn of Canada, Ky.;one daughter, Marsha Lynette Gregory of Canada, Ky.; one sister, Delorse May of Pikeville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Penny Renee Gregory and Paul Nicholas Gregory both of Canada, Ky. and Kevin Douglas Gregory of Parkersburg, WV and four niecs and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Elswick, Charles May and William Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery, Sidney, Ky. with Kevin Gregory, Paul Gregory, Steve Miller, Charles May, Anthony Varney, Robbie Parks and Phillip Murphy officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Garner Runyon and Fonso Bogar. Visitation will be held from 6 till 10 PM Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Funeral Home Chapel. R. E.
